I had sleep problem due to work stress and tension. I have been advised to take restyl 0.25 mg before dinner and it is suiting me fine and cured my anxiety releted sleep problem completely. I am taking this for last 6 months. Is it ok to continue this permanently or I need to give it up in stages. I am 55, no sugar. I take Telma 20 for keeping my BP stable

General & Family Physician, Dr. G.Senthil's Response
Its not advisable to take restyl for longer duration. since you are free from symptoms try to withdraw the restyl.
I would suggest you to gradually stop using alprazolan(restyl). It has huge addictive potential(may be even more than alcohol). It can cause variety of side effects like memory loss, depression etc..
