Do Lexapro Help With Sleeplessness Or Xanax?

I m prescribed Lexapro 10mg and Xanax 0.5mg for depression and sleeplessness Which one helps me sleep? since both meds say basically the same? and my biggest problem is sleeplessness and pain , especially at night. Also, what does selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor mean ? Thank you.

I really appreciate your concern, both the drug will work in same way as long as insomnia is concern, serotonin reuptake inhibitor is also class of medicine that is used for antidepressant, it is the mode of action of drug that block the neurotransmitters, hope this information helps, take care.
