Can STD Be Contracted Through Non-penetrative Sex?

I washed my penis with dettol and water (alot of dettol) after i have received oral sex. Then it started to sting abit. So I suddenly washed off back with water. And i have no discoloration or sting anymore. If there is std from the girl who give me blowjob, can i get affected.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely the symptoms you had soon after the encounter is due to the local irritation from Dettol and aggressive cleaning. On the other hand, oral intercourse can cause the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases (especially gonorrhea and also HIV- very low risk).

It is best to avoid unprotected intercourse and the best way to avoid sexually transmitted disease is a faithful monogamous relationship. Any casual encounter carries a risk for STDs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
