Can STD Be Contracted Through Unprotected Oral Sex?
Hi I had a drunken encounter with a prostitute who gave me oral sex without a condom then sex with a condom. Three days after I am very unwell with flu like symptoms a very bad headache, stomach ache, cold sweats, sore throat, light headed, aching body including lower back, legs and top of arms, feeling sick and tired. I also noticed that after the intercourse I developed a small rash on my stomach which had gone down gradually. I would appreciate if you could tell me what could be wrong and if I have contracted an std. Thank you
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. The symptoms what you are describing appears that you could have contacted flu, for which you need to take proper treatment by consulting Physician. Generally, STDs are not contacted by having oral sex. However, if there are any abrasions over the genitalia or cuts or wounds in the oral cavity, there is a possibility of its transmission. For now, you can relax and get treated for your infection. To make sure that you have not contacted STD, you can get your blood sample tested for the same. Hope the information provided helps. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
