Hello,

I read your message and understood your problem.

Salbutamol and Ambroxol are different drugs. Salbutamol is a bronchodilator which widens the airways and Ambroxol is a mucolytic drug. These drugs do not stop coughing but they help in easy cleaning of airways by coughing.

Allerkid syrup is an antihistaminic agent and helps in allergies and clarithromycin is an antibiotic.

My suggestion is that it may be a viral infection as the actual drugs have not done any improvement. If the symptoms do not improve in the following 24-48 hours you must send your son to the pediatrician again. And yes, you can give him Ambroxol instead of Salbutamol. If there is no bacterial infection there is no need for antibiotics.

Viral infections have only symptomatic treatments with painkillers, fluids, and plenty of rest. Medication against cough is not recommended. Use paracetamol rectal for the temperature.

Hope this was helpful
