Can Seretide Be Taken For A Long Duration?

My name is Anthony - I am 66 years old and have had asthma from childhood. I have been taking Seretide for many years but am becoming concerned about the long term use of the steroid. I am gaining weight and despite exercise and diet remain overweight. My height is 5ft 10 and my weight is 100 kg. Can long term use of Seretide be aggraving my weight gain. My astma is well controlled - can I stop the Seretide?

Hello sir,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
I can certainly understand your concern
I have worked through your query in detail.

I can say that your over weight or weight gain is due to the effect of seratide as it is composed of steroids, I would like to advise you to stop the drug if you have not had any attacks in the recent past except in the childhood

Please check with your physician if he shares my view
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you
