Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on Prilosec for acid reflux, gabapentin for a seizure disorder and diazepam for an anxiety disorder, I had an injury 3 yrs ago where now I have to take naproxen for chronic myofaciitis flexiril for muscle spasms(I tore all the ligaments in my neck and am permamently partially disabled because of it and recently been put on Seroquel 12.5 mg to sleep, my blood pressure has been really high so I was on amlodipine besylate 5mg tablets now x 2. I am wondering if I am not in pain why is my blood pressure so high., is the the Seroquel? that was only new drug they put me on.
Hello and thank you for your question. Blood pressure can be high for many reasons. If you gain weight on the Seroquel that can be a cause. Seroquel does not usually cause elevated blood pressure. However, naproxen can cause elevated blood pressure. Talk to your doctor about another pain medication that does not do this. Other ideas are to lose weight if you are overweight, avoid all salt, exercise regularly and avoid caffeine and alcohol. Regards
