Can Sotalol 120mg Be Taken Along With Levofloxacin 750mg?

one cardiologist told me to stop taking sotalol 120mg x2 daily if i was going to take 750mg levofloxacin 5 days for lung infection. i decided to stop sotalol for 6 days and not take levofloxacin because of the many serious risks. my other cardiologist tells me to start back taking sotalol immediatly or it may hurt a lot of other things especially my kidneys . WHAT DO I DO?

Sotalol is an antiarrhythmic medication. It is used for maintaining normal heart beat in patients with atrial fibrillation or flutter.
Levofloxacin is an antibiotic belonging to the quinoline group. It is used to treat infections.
Major interaction has been indicated between Levofloxacin and Sotalol and their intake is not recommended. Combining two drugs can increase the risk of irregular heart rhythm, which may be serious.
In case you are using these two drugs together, kindly seek medical attention promptly if you experience sudden episodes of dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting or irregular heart beats.
