Can Synthroid And Doxycycline Be Taken Together On Empty Stomach Every Morning?

Hi, I have been taking Synthroid for the past 4 years because I have hoshimoto disease. I was just prescribed Doxycyclin for acne/Rosacea. Both medications say to take them on an empty stomach in the morning with plenty of water. Can I take them at the same time? Thank you for you help. Stephanie

Hi,

You are right both doxycycline and synthroid should be taken on empty stomach as food can effect their absorption.

There is no interaction between the two drugs and you can take them both an hour before your break fast. Though we advise taking doxycycline in the night two hours after meal as it can cause photosensitivity if taken in the morning and then exposed to sun. But this is not a hard rule but better to take it in the evening if it's once a day.
