Can Synthroid And Omeprazole Be Taken Together?

Hello, my mother is 87 years old, she is currently taking synthroid in the morning along with omeprazole and a probiotic. She must also take salt tabs, magnesium and potassium. Her primary care doctor has suggested that she take the synthroid in the evening about 10 pm to avoid taking it with the other pills mentioned above. Family members have a concern with her taking the thyroid med in the evening, saying that it should always be taken in the morning for the best benefit. What should we do?

I can understand your concern.
Yes, your chest family members are right about synthyroid tablet.
It should be taken in the morning with water before breakfast on empty stomach for best absorption.
So she should take synthyroid tablet immediately after doing brushing.
Nothing should be taken (food or other drug) for atleast 30 minutes after synthyroid.
She can take breakfast and other drugs 30 minutes after synthyroid.
Don't give in evening.
