Can TB Be Detected In A Test 5 Years After Being Cured?
hello doctor. I am a student and I was once infected by tuberclosis in 2013...I then took full six months regular medicine and I was cured. now on 2015 I won united states diversity visa and I am in further processing for my visa interview. the medical examination would be taken by International organization of migration (IOM). would it affect my visa processing due to scars caused by tuberclosis in the past? since I am fully cured from tb is there any way to cure those scars and make my lungs normal as before? hope you understand my problem and give me some effective advice.
Hello I do understand your problem. Frankly I would like to advise there is no medicine in the which is able to remove these calcified ( calcification ) scars . With the help of these scar marks in the X RAY , doctor easily know that this person is an old tubercular patient ( healed lesions ). I am discussing with many visa aspirants but scientifically that ( removal of scar ) is not possible . However , in my opinion consult a medical board ( chest and tuberculosis experts ) and get required certificate that the person is an old tubercular case and healed lesions present . NO ACTIVE LESION of tuberculosis . Hope this will be useful for you.
