I am now 61 years old - as a child of 4 I had a TB Gland removed from my bottom. I have had many chest x-rays since then for one thing and another and I have never actually had TB symptoms since. Is there anything to worry about as I get older please?
thanks for asking your question i completely understand your problem in my opinion tuberculosis is a disease which becomes symptomatic if the immunity level decreases .by writing this i mean in developing countries 7 outof 10 people are infected with tuberculosis ,but they dont show symptoms because our immunity is holding up the infection. so as the immune status is depressed infection turns into disease. if once tuberculosis happens and we take treatment the bacteria are killed and some of the bacteria may b in dormant state and will relapse when immune status is depressed. in cured patients also relapse occurs in 10-20 % of the patients thanks /regards feel free to ask more questions may god bless you with good health
