Can TB Medicine Cause Joint Pain?

I have pulmonary tuberculosis. I have been taking my medication for 2 months now. My doctor says that my tb has improved and reduced my medication from 5 tablets to 2 tablets. However, now I am experiencing a pain in my joints (knee & elbow). Could you please tell me why I m getting this pain? Is it related to tb or any side effects of the medication?

Welcome to HCM!
I can understand your problem of joint pains on Anti TB medications.
One of the drugs that are used in the treatment of Tuberculosis is Rifampicin.
Rifampicin is known to cause a flu like syndrome characterized by joint pains, body ache, running nose, etc.
The other possibility could be due to the side effect of another Anti TB drug i.e., Pyrazinamide which is known to cause increased uric acid level in the blood so this increased uric acid can get deposited into the joints causing joint pains, painful swellings, etc.

Kindly inform your doctor about the joint pains so as to examine you properly to find out the exact cause of joint pains.
Regards.
