Can Tagamet Be Taken While Suffering From Chronic Renal Disease?

I have chronic renal disease (low GFR, high creatinine, many cysts) and I am currently having possible gastric or duodenal ulcer problems. Doctor wants me to take Tagamet for two weeks. Is there a concern with this medication because of decreased renal functioning?

Hello,

Every single med would affect renal function, and it's given according to its impairment severity.

So does Tagamet. Continue taking as prescribed, and watch for any possible unusual symptom.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
