Can Tetralysal Tablet Cause Dryness And Darkening Of Lips?
Hi
I am on Tetralysal, I've noticed that my lips have become very dry and turned black in colour. Could this be because of this acne pill or could it be something else. I also notice that my lips crack quite often on the sides and i crave clay / soil and people say it's probably an iron deficiency. If this is the case, can I take pills for iron replacement with the tetralysal?

Understanding your concern.
As per your query Tetralysal tablet can cause dryness and darkening of lips. It causes hypersensitivity of area around lips, mouth, and it causes ulceration as well in that area. Iron deficiency in your body exaggerating your symptoms as because of low iron in your body oxygen carrying capacity is lowering down and due to lesser oxygen dryness, darkness is there.
I would suggest you to start iron tablet rich in ferrous sulfate with Tetralysal tablet. along with that drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration in your body. Keep applying SPF 30+ rich sunscreen when ever expose sun. Apply mashed potatoes around that area to lighten darkening.
Avoid cosmetics rich in corticosteroids as it will exaggerate your symptoms.
