Can Tramadol And Meloxicam Be Taken Together?

Hi! I am a 57 yr. old woman. I ve been taking Tramadol Hcl 50mg, for a long time, 3x daily for peripheral neuropathy (almost 9 years, and fortunately I do not have diabetes) and just these past 3 years my podiatrist included Meloxicam Tabs 15 mg, 1 Tab daily! I looked up on the comparisons and uses for these together on your site. I know they both have there separate purposes for my complications. My husband and I talked recently about if I really need both. What are your thoughts, please?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Tramadol and Meloxicam are analgesics. Both are intended to reduce pain.If your pain is well managed with Tramdol, no need to start an additional pain killer.
Keep in mind that nothing wrong in combining both the drugs together as they will not interact with each other or does not give rise to adverse health effects.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
