Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
thanks for being available. today i had a bunionectomy and my surgeon prescribed Tramadol 50 and Norco 325/10. As I understand it, these two can be taken concurrently due to different mechanisms of action, BUT I have been wrong before.....lol can you clarify for me? my husband thinks we heard two different things thanks rachel jack
Hi, I appreciate your concern regarding taking Tramadol and Norco together. Both drugs are given in moderate to severe pain. Tramadol is similar to narcotic analgesic and Hydrocodone, which is one of the constituents of Norco, is an opioid analgesic. So in my opinion, taking the two medicines together is not recommended. Using these medications together can increase your risk of seizures, breathing problems, and other side effects. So I'll advise talk to your doctor if he or she has presrcibed it.You may need a dose adjustment. I hope I answered your question. Please feel free to ask another question if there is still a confusion. Thanks, Dr.Prabhas Verma
