My sister passed away on Feb. 4th, she was an alcoholic who also was taking Tramadol, had seizures and was taking Dilantin. She did not have any alcohol in her system when she died, but had massive diareha for a couple of days before dying and was severly dehydrated. She had been active up until a few days before her death, but did suffer a lot from bouts of diareha. Would the Tramadol have caused the diarhea

Can Tramadol Tablet Cause Diarrhea?
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic Tramadol is in the opiate family of drugs which means that it would be more likely to cause constipation , not diarrhea. The diarrhea may have been due to infection, side effect of other medication, IBS (if had a history), inflammatory bowel disease. I hope this helps
