Can Trapic Be Taken For Excessive Menstrual Bleeding For A Long Duration?

Hi. Have been bleeding for 16 days now. It s very heavy and shows no signs of stopping. Can i take Trapic to stop it? If yes, could you tell me the dosage, please. Also, can I take oral contraceptives to regularise my periods? If yes, which one and for how long? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

For bleeding per vagina, mentioned drug that contains tranexamic acid can be taken 3 times a day.

The oral contraceptive pill also can be prescribed once daily for 21 days. Forgetting prescription you need to consult a nearby gynaecologist. Your pelvic examination and USG scan also advisable.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
