Hi, Can I take trazadone 50 mg for sleep, when I just started naltrexone hcl 1.5 mg capsule two nights ago? The ldn is to help recover my cells. My doctor overdosed me on estrogen and progesterone and lead to my brain swelling. I ve been off of the hormones for six weeks. now I realize my brain needs more sleep. But, ambien only keeps me asleep for 1 1/2 hours. I m desperate for sleep. I was told to go to emergency room and check in so they can prescribe something. I want to take this trazodone right now to sleep during today to catch up. My sister will stay with me this weekend while I do this daytime and nighttime sleep marathon.
Hello, Thanks for the query. Trazodone is not recommended as sleeping pills and it has got serious adverse effects when taken for wrong purposes. You can take zolpidem which is a good choice and side effects are minimal. Popular brand is “zolefresh”. If you have persistent sleep disturbances, better to consult a physician and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
