Hi, My name is Malgorzata. My daughter Olivia, 8, was diagnosed two years ago with -2.00 D than one year ago with -4.00 D and now with -5.25 D and we started VST 2 months ago. Now she can see clearly but we went to eye specialist who said that this method is destroying her cornea. Is that true? He did not even want to explain us anything just said that he does not want to discuss it with us and that there is nothing wrong with being nearsighted. Are there any side effects of this method? I was searching on the internet and I really can not find anything. I am not expecting to reverse the process of myopia but at least to slow down or hopefully stop it. Now I am really scared that I am hurting my child.
Thanks for your query, my opinion is to certain extent VST destroys cornea. it can be used only outside when necessary other times she can use glasses. Myopia can be corrected by lasik surgery where cornea is grinded by Lasik surgery. Before surgery it is better to undergo retina scanning for evaluation. Nothing to worry, your child will be alright.
Thanks
