General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
Valium should not be taken after consuming alcohol.

Valium (Diazepam) is a benzodiazepine which is commonly prescribed to treat anxiety disorders, alcohol withdrawal symptoms, convulsion or muscle spasms due to its depressant action on central nervous system.

Valium taken after or before consuming alcohol there will be an increased risk of serious side effects such as shallow breathing, severe drowsiness, motor incoordination, falls, unconsciousness or coma.

Since the effects of Valium may persist even after 24 hours so it is not advisable for you to consume alcohol.

Prevention is better than cure!

Wishing you a very happy married life.
