Can Vitamin C And Astaxanthin Be Taken For Inflammation Of The Retina?
my father had epiretinal membrane peal and cataract surgery in january. he still has inflammation of the retina after 4 months of using prednisolone and ketoralac eyes drops. dr gave him a shot of triamcinolone in his eye today. would he benefit from taking vitamin c and astaxanthin.
Hello It seems from the history that your father had underwent epiretinal membrane peeling surgery and cataract surgery and he is on treatment with prednisolone and ketorolac along with intravitreal injection of triamcinolone. These will take care of the retinal inflammation. Vitamin C and xanthin will help in healing and being antioxidants they prevent damage to the retina caused by inflammation. Hence he will be benefited by the use of vitamin C and xanthin.
Thank you
