Can Vyvanse Be Taken Before Surgery For Pilonidal Cyst?
I am not prescribed to Vyvanse, I buy it from my friends. I am having surgery on a pilonidal cyst in exactly one week. I took 40 mg of vyvanse today and 3 other times this past week because finals are coming up. Should I stop taking it until surgery? I want to take it at least twice more before Friday to study. I really don't want to put myself at risk during surgery.
You are taking un-prescribed Vyvanse. Vyvanse is a stimulant amphetamine drug. You have to go for surgery of pilonidal sinus and are taking this drug. I would not advise you to take the drug before surgery and please stop it at least a week before surgery. As it causes activation it may alter the dose of anaesthetic agents used in surgery. Higher than normal doses of anaesthetics may be needed to get proper anaesthesia. It may hamper in anaesthesia so you should stop using the drug.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
