Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm an aphakic glaucoma patient who is also taking Vyvanse. In the past I've felt like there has been a connection between my eye pressure increasing and the mornings that I choose to take Vyvanse. Both the doctor prescribing the Vyvanse and my Ophthalmologist didn't blink an eye when I asked if there could be a connection between the two because I have open-angle glaucoma. Recently my Vyvanse dosage increased to 60mg/day and my eye pressure sky-rocketed to ~28 mmHg, even with being on two glaucoma medications already. There is some literature online that says the connection is possible, but it is very limited on what the research papers say on the subject. Also, the research papers do not talk about aphakic glaucoma. Does this change the situation at all? Is it even possible that there is a connection between Vyvanse and my glaucoma?
