Can Zoloft Cause Blackouts And Mood Swings?

I have a 17 year old daughter who is on 50mg of zoloft for depression, but now she is experiencing blackouts with mood swings such as crying and practically hysterical to being happy and not knowing what had just happened. I am really scared. My two older boys have bipolar disorder. What can I do to help her beside getting her to a mental health professional?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is not related to zoloft.
Most probably it can be an anxiety attack.
Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can help a bit.
If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and get evaluated. Conditions like anemia and thyroid dysfunction have to be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
