Can Zoloft Cause Pounding Heart And Skipped Heart Beats?
Hi. I was on Zoloft for several months for anxiety and mild depression. It was very helpful but I experienced heart pounding and recurrent periods where my heart would skip beats (no heart racing or irregular beats). I stopped taking the medication because of this and the problem subsided. Is this a normal side effect of the drug? I feel I need to be on something and otherwise felt the Zoloft was working well. I was on 100 mg. Dropped to 50 and ultimately dropped to 25 before stopping altogether. The side effect was present at all of these doses. What else can I take that doesn t present this annoying side effect? I have taken Celexa in the past. Is it similar to Zoloft? Didn t have any side effects with the Celexa, but that was a few years ago. I am a 64 year old female. Thank you.
As per my clinical experience, the Zoloft contains Sertaline which is a Selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor used in variety of depression and related conditions.
The side effect profile of the Zoloft include many, the common ones being: - Dizziness - Sleeping sensation - Palpitation and heart beat alterations - Chest pain - Abdomen bloating - Weight loss - Decreased appetite - Diarrhea - Others
