Can A Triple Antibiotic Ointment Be Applied On The Penis Head For Irritation?
Hi, My husband has an irritation at the end of his penis. He is in the sixth day of having a urinary cathreter after a urological procedure where they had to dilate his urethra. He has been switching from an overnight drainage bag to a leg bag so he can go to work. Navigating his pants and sitting/standing has caused painful irritation and inflammation. I purchased a triple antibiotic ointment that contains Pramoxine 10mg. Is it ok to use. he will have the cath removed tomorrow but has to work tonight.

First, check for whether he developed urinary tract infection or not. It is the one of the cause for pain and Irritation in Catheterized patients.
Simply, applying local antibiotics is of no use. Get urine examination done, and use appropriate antibiotics accordingly.
