Hello, and I hope i can help you today.

Unfortunately, being pregnant does not prevent getting sick like anyone else! However just because you are sick does not mean the baby gets sick too.

An infection in your eye and/or it's treatment will not affect the baby at all. Most products and medications that you use on your skin or in your eyes will not affect pregnancy. Only medications that are swallowed or injected generally pass through the placenta to the baby.

I hope this reassures you and answers your question. Best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy! Take care, Dr. Brown
