Can A Breast Cancer Patient Work After Chemotherapy?
My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has just finished 6 sessions of chemotherapy. Ahe is about to start her radiation. Her job before the chemo was cleaninig homes and doing yard work. She stopped during th echemo because of the weakness and some wounds from surgery. They removed both her breasts. The wounds have now healed. Can she return to do some mild work both lawn and cleaning homes?
In my opinion if Your Aunt feels good and do not have ongoing problems with arm or shoulder pain, stiffness or swelling and wants to return to work She can. For many people, working is an integral part of feeling “normal” and can have a positive psychological impact. At the beginning She should do mild work, do not lift, avoid toxins, infections, do not stress. Do not work full-time.
