Can A Catheter Be Used If The Urethra Is Completely Detached?
Can a standard male catheter be used if the urethra is completely detached from the bladder? In all the illustrations I have seen, the tube travels through the urethra and into the bladder where a balloon is filled to hold it in place, so if the urethra is detached how could it go into the bladder?
Hi You are right the catheter tip cannot be in bladder if the urethra is completely detached from bladder as you claim it. From the information provided i cannot comment any further.
