Can A Child Be Given Mucinex In Case Of Sneezing, Coughing And Running Nose?

Hi,

My daughter (4 year old) has watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, coughing and now she is saying her ears hurt, I been giving her children mucinex, but I donot know if is working, her mucus is loosen, she feels like she has a fever, she is been sleeping a lot, and does not want anything to eat, she is been some fluid (juice, milk, a little of water)

Your daughter is suffering from viral respiratory tract infection. Its treatment is symptomatic.Mucinex is not for daily use.It is for ICU use.It is not very very safe.It function is mucolytic.So of no use in running nose.This flu will take 3-5 days to heal.
