Can A Child Suffering From Flu Virus Be Given Relent And Bricanyl?
my daughter is 5 years old. she had flu virus for last 7 days. now no fever but i am giving her relent and bricanyl for her cough and phlegm. she complaints of pain on cheeks and ears and i give her meftal. i can see that she has lot of phlegm and not able to bring it out.
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. I am happy that you are not on antibiotics but ear pain and cheek swelling indicate an acute otitis media or secondary infection after a flu. if she has not used any antibiotics in the past 30 days the choice would be amoxicillin and if not use amoxicillin clavulenate. I also suggest you not to use Meftal-P as it contain mefenamic acid - a NSAID. Not indicated for pain or fever in children. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
