My...dad 78yo w/ Boston pace maker...was using a motor power tool this afternoon. He reached across the motor to cut it off and it arced between him. There was a ball of like fire/light between him and the motor. He says he feels ok... should his pace maker be checked

Hi Patients with the pacemaker insitu should be very careful while handling high electronic things, remote control electronic goods, mri investigation, Electrical cautery, as , much as possible they have to avoid electrical instruments. There can be creation of attractive electrical and magnetic fields causing release of micro shocks, which can cause dangerous arrythmias, or can stop the pacemaker function, It is advisable to get it checked oit with the concerned technician of the respective company or meet yoir cardiologist to check out for the appropriate function of the pacemaker all the best Take care
