Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My baby is 5 months and 1 week old. Can I start with some solids or cerelac? He was EBF until he was 4 months old. After that as I started to go to office, since last 1 month he was breast fed in nyt time n early mrng ( around 4 times) and he was fed with formula milk for 3-4 times during the day
By six months infants' digestive system is well developed to digest solid food. Still it is better initially to give semi solid cereals like rice and lentils boiled, porridge etc. At five months also this semi solid food with more water content may be given.
Ayurveda's liquid ARVINDASAV, if available, should be given to infants for few months. It is a classical infant tonic, pure herbal, absolutely safe. Healthy children are also given this. It's specially for infants and children.
Hope it helps.
