Can A Growth From Brain Stem To C-3 In Epidural Space Cause Problems In Nervous System?
Female age 49, 5.2 and 159 pounds. Recent MRI & MRA show vasular growth from brain stem to C-3 in epidural space and larger at C-2. Can this growth cause problems with my central nervous system as I have nerve pain. Will a angiogram tell me what if it is an AVM or DVA etc and play a role in my disc degeneration?
Hi welcome to HCM. Epidural growths at C2 level can be reliably differentiated through cerebral angiography if its of vascular pathology.Such vascular lesions can cause compressive symptoms like raised intracranial pressure leading to headache and visual symptoms.Brain stem lesions can lead to added cardiovascular instability signs.Treatment consists of coil embolisation of the AVM.Consult your neurosurgeon for further care. Thank you.
