Can A Head Injury Cause Twitching Of Eyelid ?

I was shot in the back of my head in May this year, I suffered a fractured skull, but luckily didnt need any surgery . I was in hospital for a few days and did experience balance problems, shaking and blurry vision a few weeks after release from hospital. I have had a CT scan with contrast just last week to check for any neurological issues - to which everything seems to be fine. The problem now is that for the last few days my right eyelid has been twitching involuntarily on off for around a few hours or so each day - could this be connected to my head injury? Thanks.

it is possible that after head injury due to some nerve ending damage causing irritation of eye muscles resulting in twitching.

Hi welcome to Healthcaremagic

The normal cause for twitching of the eyes is calcium deficiency... the occipital region in the brain i related to vision,,... but since there is no visual abnormalities, and CT is normal there will be no damage to brain... just get your serum calcium level... also take calcium supplements, milk, jaggery, egg.. to improve the health...
Hope I have answered your question..

Welcome to Healthcare Magic
It could be nothing or everything. The eyelid twitching is called Myokymia. It is usually seen in individuals who are generally nervous and also seen in Multiple sclerosis. Do you have any bowel or urinary disturbance. Any double vision, painful muscle spasms. Best if you get evaluated by the Neurologist in this regard for safety sake. Avoid caffeine, take 6-8 hours of bed rest, warm compress over the eyelid to relax the muscles will help with great benefit.
