Can A Heart Stop Often Due To Stress?

my heart seems to stop often. I went to the ER about 6 weeks ago with Angina. I ended up wearing a 48-hour heart monitor. It just showed that my heart stops often. As far as I can remember what my doc said. She thought it was from Stress. She gave me an option to medicate me for the anxiety/stress for about 6 weeks and then she would put me on a blocker? Blood Pressure Medication that would help my heart from stopping so often???? I chose to attack the stress first heart second. I never heard of such a thing.

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Stress can lead to hypertension , high cholesterol level and indirectly by this predispose heart for disease like IHD ....

Try to avoid stress and take drugs for that along with behavioural therapy if needed ..

According to history you might have ectopic beats ..
If no symptom than nothing done actively.

If you have history of smoking and alcohol than avoid it as it can lead such condition....

Follow up echo cardiography done for further work up ....

Here I would like to give you advise to consult cardiologist ..
