Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

In connection to your query I would like to say that Cat or any pet may be allergic to some sensitive individuals. Since you are having irritable cough which appears to be allergic and is for last 3 weeks all these facts are putting suspicion as most likely you are having allergic pharyngitis due to kitten.

You may please rule out other common conditions causes allergy like-

1- Carpet in room.

2- Humidity and soiled walls & floor of bed room.

To manage your problem you may do-

a- Avoid kitten to enter your room.

b- Take anti allergic like cetrizine.

I hope this will help you .

Regards.
