General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
In such incidence, He needs to drink fluids (water with ORS powder),avoid more fibers in diet (fruits and salads) vegetables. Eat bland, non greasy food with no or minimum fat content even after recovery for few days. He must wash hands after using toilet and before eating food. The person serving also needs same hygienic habit.
In case of relapse, the cause may be bacterial: making stool examination is essential. After finding basic pathogen, specific antibiotic can be advised. Please take him to his pediatrician for a personal advise, prescription and dosage of medicine. No self treatment is recommended.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
