Can A Nose Injury Cause Headache Along With Sore Throat?
I am a 5 5 female weighing 135 lbs. Two nights ago, my two-year old accidentally headbutted my nose and it cracked audibly. Since then I have had pain in my nose and sinuses, a headache, and teeth pain. There was immediate swelling, but with ice that has dissipated. No bleeding occurred, however, I now have a sore throat and have felt post nasal drip since then, Is it possible that it is a complication from hitting my nose?
The pain could be due to nasal injury or fracture. You have not mentioned about any intake of painkillers. In case of symptoms such as nasal bleeding, bruising of nose or around eyelids, watery discharge from nose, visible change in the shape of nose, nasal fracture should be ruled out and should be treated by fracture reduction after reducing any edema. Healing starts by 2 weeks.Mild swelling and pain can be treated with painkillers. X-rays are generally inaccurate in assessment of nasal fractures. CT can be done if severe pain and swelling is present.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
