Hellow doc. I have thyroid since sep 2015. Recently three weeks back, i have tested for thyroid and it was 10. which was increased. Now i am having 75 mg tablet(thyronorm) I have epilepsy since 1999 and have tablets twice a day. Encorate crono(300 mg) I had 1 miscarriage last year(sep2015). Could you please tell me will i able to conceive and deliver baby without any issues?
The thyroid may affect ovulation and the ability to conceive. On the other hand, the use of the right dose of the medications helps correct the thyroid function and improves ovulation and conception rates.
Thus, you will need to measure your TSH in 6 weeks from the last dose change to make sure it is reaching under between 0.5 and 5.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
