Can Abdominal Incisional Hernia Cause Pain After Bowel Movement?

Hi, I m curious and concerned. I have fibro and Hypothyroidism, and lately when I m walking my legs start to feel super heavy, like they don t want to carry me any farther. and I literally have to squat down where i m at for a few minutes to rest them. They feel like cinder blocks.

Hello,

You have a history of abdominal incisional hernia. You should not strain too hard or put too much pressure in your abdomen to avoid pain. It looks like you are obese. You should maintain healthy weight. Do regular walking in the morning as well a sin the evening. Stretch exercises are good.

Avoid taking fried salty junk food, cut on alcohol and addictions if any. Cut on carbs, sugars, refined flour, trans fat, etc etc. Take home made healthy food. You should get follow up check up for your thyroid & do continue to take the required medicines.

You are suggested to get clinically examined for abdominal incisional hernia. Get the required blood workouts and imaging tests done to detect if they are reducible or irreducible. You will be treated accordingly. You may need laparoscopic repair.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
