After being diagnosed with one autoimmune condition, you are at risk for others. Hypothyroidism is an autoimmune condition (diagnosed 5 years ago) puts you at risk for developing other autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and vitiligo. Vitiligo (depigmentation of the skin) is an autoimmune disorder as well. So, hypothyroidism and vitiligo are both autoimmune disorders and are associated conditions, but the depigmentation does not have any relation with the thyroid disorder, per se. That is the thyroid condition is not responsible for the depigmentation. There are certain creams that can be prescribed by a physician if it is very noticeable, and it is advised to avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen when going outside in sun.
The shortness of breath is not related to either condition and could be due to a multitude of other causes, some as simple as allergies to a heart or lung condition. It is adviseable to seek medical attention for the breathlessness. I do not have enough information to be able to give you a diagnosis.
Best regards
