i have a watery secretion in the throat making me cough 24/24 i also tried 100 of antihistamines,then i doubted that it may be acid reflux the thing i wanted to know if acid reflux causes watery secretion and wet cough or acid reflux causes dry cough only im taking aciloc 300 at noon and rastab-D in the morning im suffering from this cough since 6 years my appetite is low im thin i feel tired and have difficulty to sleep at night also.Kindly advise me thanks....
Hi, The GERD or reflux disease is nothing but bringing the stomach content mainly acidic fluid into the throat spontaneously. The acidic fluid itself causes chronic dry cough on supine posture and better with sitting posture. The PPI with Prokinetics like Levosulphirides twice daily before food will be helpful. Eat less in night, allow 2-3 hrs betwqeen dinner and sleep. Sleep upright with 30* angle or rise your head end of the cot. Avoid smoke , alcohol specially beers.
