Can 'acidophilus' Probiotic Help To Cure Celiac Disease?
Hi I am 16 years old and I have celiac disease (So I must follow a strict gluten-free diet). From July 28 to August 7th I went on a missions trip to countries in Central American. I took a Acidophilus Probiotic to help my stomach stay calm. When I returned from my trip I became very constipated and I decided to eat a bit of gluten to "clean out" my system. However, it did not do anything to my body. I am used to terrible reactions when I consume gluten, yet nothing happened. I researched and found that certain probiotics can help celiac disease. Do you know if it will still harm my body if I consume the gluten? Thank you.
It is not really "harming" your body if you intake gluten. it is a simple fact of your body not being able to break down the gluten. Thus can get bloating and cramping and diarrhea. But there is no harm to your body by consuming.
