I have a severe case of acid reflux for many years i was always on Prlosec & all was ok with no bad side effects last year it got much worse with no relief & after an Endoscopy the doctor put me on Aciphex which is the same group as Prilosec but i'm having hair damage like it was chemically burnt the hair dresser explained the texture changed could the Aciphex do this? Plus more shedding also?
Every medication has potential side effects, these are problems that may or may not occur.
There is a rare side effect of hair loss that can occur with aciphex.
The other possible side effects associated with aciphex are sore throat, constipation, flatulence, diarrhoea, dry mouth , muscle and joint pain, dizziness ,constipation.
You should consider visiting your doctor to see if he or she would give you an alternative medication. I hope this helps
