I'm 22 and I've had my period since I was 11. It has always been irregular. Ive used birth control twice for a year at a time. During that time on bcp my period lasted about 3 days and was heavy. I stopped using bcp due to extreme moodiness. My periods when not on bcp are very long, as in two or three weeks, and vary from regular to light. I have some acne and varying degrees of pms. It can also be about two months between periods with a small amount of breakthrough bleeding. I'm afraid these irregularities will harm any future pregnancies, if I can get pregnant at all.
As per your query you have symptoms of acne on face which is due to hormonal change during puberty , androgen hormones stimulate more sebum to be produced and a greater amount of skin cells to proliferate. Sometimes bacteria get trapped inside the pore, too, causing the area to become red and swollen. Exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore. You should get your hormone levels monitored. You can take hormone replacement therapy. Wash your face using a mild soap or cleanser and lukewarm water. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined. Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics like clindamycin , Isotretinoin or Hormone Therapy.
