Can Acute Retroviral Syndrome Start At 10 Weeks After Exposure?
Can acute retroviral syndrome start 10 1/2 weeks after exposure and last for 9+ weeks. Symptoms started with sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, low fever and fatigue. Lymph nodes are still swollen ( not as large as they were) but fatigue is finally going away after 9 weeks. No rash. Partner is not known to be HIV + and is in low risk group. Fourth generation test done 14 days after last exposure was negative.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, let me inform you something that if this is the strong history of exposure with positive person then it is necessary get done the necessary tests and it need to be done in window period which start almost three months from the exposure ( Period may very from person to person and depends upon the immune status) you can not rely upon the symptoms most of the time disease is asymptotic till the window period so better to be care full hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
