General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Abdominal pain is a known side effect of Adderall, which is a stimulant medication commonly used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It can cause gastrointestinal problems such as stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.
If your son is experiencing stomach pain when taking Adderall, it is advisable to consult with his doctor or healthcare provider to evaluate the cause of his pain and determine if changing medication is necessary. They may recommend a non-stimulant medication or a lower dose of Adderall to alleviate his symptoms. It is important not to change or stop taking any medication without consulting a doctor first.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
